God’s Word Isn’t THAT Hard to Understand!
My thoughts this morning don't have anything to do with this weekend's celebration [Easter] but rather thoughts from my Bible reading this morning. My Old Testament readings are from Deuteronomy. Today I was reading from chapter 30. I am reminded of the things that Moses instructed the Israelites and how they really apply to my own life today. What really spoke again to me this morning were these words,
"Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, 'Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?' Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, 'Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?' No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it."
I am reminded again and again that God's Word is mine to read, to learn and to hide in my heart. I don't need to depend on anyone else to tell me what to do with it (though it is nice to have a Pastor to share his understanding of what God's Word says). My salvation and my understanding of what God says to me through his Word are in my own hands.

“Hi Pastor Cain, Matthew's doing great; he's almost three months old. He's healthy and loves to smile and coo. Hannah is a great big sister, and her new favorite word is "helpin!" We sold our house, and plan to live in our camper this summer while the new house is being built. It'll be cozy, but fun. At least the kids don't take up too much space. J Thanks for sending those web sites. I'm sure Dave will be interested. Please tell the church we say hello and send our love.”

Personal Supply of “Maggie” is Gone!
I no longer can take individual book orders. If people are still interested in purchasing a copy of "Maggie" they have the following options: Church of God General Conference, Amazon Bookstore, Wal-Mart Stores, and Barnes & Noble. Or, you may purchase “Maggie” directly from the publisher. Prices of the book vary, but if you choose to order through the General Conference, the price will still be $15.99 plus s/h and all proceeds will benefit the Church of God General Conference.
Casey and I are very appreciative of everyone who has ordered their copies and hopefully, they are enjoying it with their own children and grandchildren and also feeling the pull to evangelize their neighborhoods, friends and family!! I really am pleased that God has sold our personal supply so quickly (Praise His Name for that!!!) - Angela Hays Moore, 4-18-07 e-mail
Michigan Student Suspended for Wearing
'I'm Straight' Sticker
According to OneNewsNow.com, a Christian student has been punished by his Michigan high school for demonstrating opposition to a school event celebrating the homosexual lifestyle. On the "National Day of Silence" at Oakridge High, duct tape was passed out for students to wear over their lips as a way to show solidarity with homosexual students who are purportedly suffering in silence. Pastor John Gardner says his 15-year-old son David was suspended for a day by Oakridge because he wrote "I'm straight" on a piece of duct tape and attached it to his shirt. When asked to remove it, "David [asked] why do the rest of the kids in the class get to wear theirs and I can't wear something about what I believe?" David was asked to leave class when he refused to remove the sticker. Gardner says every week he preaches that the day is coming when opposition to homosexuality will be banned, but he never imagined it would happen in his small Michigan town.
