A former evolutionist who now heads a biblical creationist ministry says the recent discovery of DNA in a dinosaur bone does not prove evolution, as many scientists have claimed. Recently, scientific journals and secular news sources reported that bits of protein taken from a dinosaur bone provided the first genetic proof that the T-Rex is a distant cousin to the modern chicken.
Dr. Grady McMurtry, president of Creation Worldview Ministries, says the discovery offers proof for a young Earth. "Now first of all, let's think about this. Most molecular biologists will tell you that DNA could not possibly exist for more than 10,000 years," he notes. So, since evolutionists believe DNA does not last millions of years, he says the discovery of DNA in a dinosaur bone is consistent with the biblical account of creation.
Scientists who discovered the DNA are not telling the entire story, McMurtry asserts. "If one really looks at the science behind what they found today, evolutionists talk about chimpanzees and humans being ... 99 percent the same genetically," he says, "but what they fail to tell the public is that they're only looking at three percent of the total genome."
Evolutionists failed to report that they only used a small amount of the dinosaur DNA for comparison, that "they're only looking at three percent of all the DNA," the scientist contends. And media journalists, he says, often do not check the facts, as "most journalists today are not good reporters. They're not investigative reporters even though they will claim to be investigative reporters."
The fact of the matter is that for many reporters, evolution "is what they were taught; this is what they believe," McMurtry asserts. "So when they get something, they immediately want to accept it and -- number two -- write about it as if they had checked into it, and they haven't," he says. "So these people are simply into a political agenda."
According to the Bible's account in Genesis, Chapter One, dinosaurs were created on day five and day six of creation week and lived with man until the Flood of Noah, McMurtry points out. After the Flood, he says dinosaurs were at a disadvantage for survival and most dinosaur species became extinct during the next several hundred years.

Joshua, Welcome to Bedford!!
Today, Joshua Railton, Our Guest Speaker
Josh wrote: Rex, Here is a description of my presentation - Title: War of the Worldviews: There is a war going on that is much bigger than the war on terror or any other war that has ever been experienced in the history of the universe! It is a war between Satan and God. At VitalKnowledge.org, we call it the War of the Worldviews. Our focus is to encourage all to look at everything through a biblical worldview. Our mission is to provide the information and tools necessary to do so. Our slogan is "Survival Skills for Christians." Today, I will talk about what I believe is the foundation of many problems that we see in our fallen world; the theory of evolution and Christian compromise. Some suggested websites:

SHORT BIO OF JOSH RAILTON: Joshua is the youngest son of John and Alice Railton (age 28) and lives in Mishawaka IN. He is a member of Timberland Bible Church in South Bend IN. He has been the director of operations for 9 years for Dine-In Delivery Service, a company that delivers food for 50+ restaurants. He became interested in the creation/evolution debate a couple years ago when his friend and co-worker, Chad Baker, gave him some videos on Creation Science. He then attended a creation seminar near Cincinnati and took an on-line course on Apologetics from Answers in Genesis. He has taught a series of classes at Midwest Family Camp, FUEL 2006, and Timberland Bible Church. He along with Chad, created a web site*, with a goal of providing spiritual "survival skills for Christians". Josh just had the privilege of baptizing Chad on Easter Sunday. Praise the Lord, Josh!
Hi I do so appreciate your sending the Emails and bulletins. We had hoped to get down to church before we left for Oklahoma (30th) but it was laity Sunday here last week. We'll be back in late May, so will check on what's happening and hope to get down. I found an old Oregon IL picture (circa 1947) and will bring it down to share when we do come. Please pray for a safe trip for us.

COMMUNION DEACONESSES for next Sunday will be Marge Reed and Dorothy Robertson. Communion, postponed today, will be observed next Sunday (13th).
JUNE MACY ROUTSON: Hello to all, Mom is doing well and walks with a walker. She will be coming to live with us May 4th. I guess I am a little surprised that she is ready to leave the nursing home but she has worked hard on her therapy. We took her to church and dinner with us on Easter and she did well moving around. Thank you all for your cards and letters; she was fortunate to get a lot. Conrad is doing okay but seems to have lost some energy. I am managing to keep going until school is over in May and then I am retiring. We hope everyone is doing well.
―Love, Etta Marie, Conrad and June, 4-29-07
OUR SNOWBIRDS ARE HOME!! The Szekely’s got in last Sunday and we should see them this morning. Good to have you back!! We have missed you!
Working Replica of Noah's Ark Opens
The massive central door in the side of Noah's Ark was thrown open Saturday, drawing a crowd of curious pilgrims and townsfolk to behold the wonder, the Associated Press reports. The half-scale replica of the biblical Ark was built by Dutch creationist Johan Huibers as a testament to his faith in the literal truth of the Bible. Johan's fully functional ark is 150 cubits long, 30 cubits (three stories) high and 20 cubits wide. Huibers built the ark of cedar and pine - the Bible says Noah used "gopherwood," but scholars aren't certain what that is. Construction on the ark began in May 2005. Soon it will feature a petting zoo on the top level. Visitors on the first day were stunned.
