HERE IS HOW MAN proposes marriage to one he loves for a life long relationship. He gets on one knee and humbly asks if she would marry him. Yes, this is Dan Cain the moment he actually proposed to Rachel.

(A picture here shows Christ upon the cross)

THIS IS HOW CHRIST proposes to his Bride (the church / the called out) for a life long relationship. He doesn’t get on his knee but rather, upon the cross. Have you said “Yes” to the proposal of eternal marriage? Jesus, the Bridegroom, IS returning for His Bride. Pastor Cain will be talking about that this morning for our communion thoughts.

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church.”

(Eph. 5:25-27, 32)

"’Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.’ (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.) Then the angel said to me, ‘Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' And he added, ‘These are the true words of God.’"

(Rev. 19:4-9)

In Memory Of …

TIMOTHY GUILES, Bud & Mary Ellen Jones and Jim & Penny Frederick have made a donation to our church or to the Gideon’s. The Guiles and Cain families, and our church, are very appreciative of your thoughtfulness!

DOROTHY ROBERTSON is still weak but has moved to her niece’s home last Thursday in Pierpont Ohio.  Bill and Ginny Cramer are also planning to spend one day a week with her to relieve the niece's duties and enjoy the fellowship. They may have services at this home on Sunday's and then spend the rest of the day with Dorothy. This is a wonderful Christian gesture.

FUNERAL IN AFRICA

Can I tell you of the pitiful funeral we went to? We were scheduled for a service at one of Moyo's churches, but the night before we were informed a death had occurred—a 26 year-old man, an elder, who left a wife and two small children. We went to the funeral and sat on chairs provided for us. There were 300-400 people sitting on the hillside among the pigeon peas above the very small house. There was the village chief in his chair by the house. The service lasted at least an hour and a half. There was much singing, several women wailing. We had to wait a long time for the Malawi-type casket to come. Several men took it inside. The house was so small they had to back out and reverse it. When they came out with it, a mat was placed on the ground and the casket placed on the mat. The poor young widow lay down beside the casket the whole service. I can't keep from crying as I write this. I couldn't bear to look at her, it was so pitiful. At the end, when it was over and she got up to take her place in the funeral procession to the grave I went to her and hugged her. I didn't know what else to do. They don't understand English. I will never forget that scene. Team member Kaitlyn Walters, an excellent artist, is going to paint that scene for me.

DEAR CONGREGATION, if you have Internet access, you can see LOTS of pictures of Dan and Rachel Cain’s wedding, honeymoon trip to Alaska and general pictures of nature. You can find them at this address:  http://picasaweb.google.com/dancain

WITH THE BEE PROBLEMS in N.E. Ohio, we hated to kill bees but they were inside the walls of the parsonage and becoming a problem. The church had to hire an exterminator to remove them.  We “bee” thankful!

Jesus Is Human

www.jesusishuman.com

This is one of Anthony Buzzard’s web sites and a few days ago I watched a 2-hour video at this site discussing all the texts used by Trinitarians to “prove” their beliefs. It was captivating. They interviewed Rabbi’s, professors, apologist for unitarianism: an African-American was especially knowledgeable about the Oneness of God. Some other videos at the site:

The Trinity – Truth or Tragedy? / The Boy Who Lived Before / This Is What Jesus Did For Us / Jesus and Trinity Explained / Introducing Jesus of Nazareth

I would recommend the site. There are many other videos at the site where Anthony and others are discussing various religious topics. Very informative!
